My Cause Testimonials

Barb Tobias, New York
“Building a My Cause web page has been such a great experience. I have always wanted to be more involved in fighting CFIDS, but limited energy and/or brainpower always got in my way.

But My Cause has allowed me to get involved, and feel as if I am finally doing something to help in the battle against CFIDS. It is very easy to build your donation page. Most of the work is done for you, and all you have to do is fill in the blanks. Limited brainpower needed! And once you are done, it is amazing how great it feels to see your friends and family, supporting you, by sending in donations, and sending back e-mails of support. So please join in the effort, it is an extremely uplifting experience!” To view my page visit http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/barbt

“I prepared the web page all by myself and it was easy and extra fun. When I completed my page and emailed my friends I was so happy that I cried. Those were tears of happiness and a great sense of accomplishment. I have a mission: spread the information and get involved in all the efforts of the CFIDS Association.” Visit my personal web page at http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/mariel

“I would strongly encourage people with CFS to set up their own page. It is very simple to do. I had never designed a web page before and wasn't sure I would be able to do it but the step by step instructions are easy to follow. It only takes a few minutes to set up. That was one of the great things about doing this, it requires very little energy. If enough people with CFS get involved in this project, it should be a big fundraiser for the CFIDS Association.

I'm not comfortable asking people outside of my close circle of family and friends for donations, so I use a link to my site as my e-signature on all of my e-mails.  That way, people can go to the site if they are interested, without the pressure of me directly asking them to donate. I have already received several contributions that way.” To view my page visit http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/pjh

“I would just like to say that I think the whole idea is wonderful. It is completely easy to set up and it is another way to get our voices out. I am happy we have such a service to reach out and I plan on asking for donations in lieu of Christmas and birthday gifts this year. http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/zuridea

Grace Ward, Florida
"I was so pleased to be invited by the CFIDS Association to help raise funds for CFS research that I didn't hesitate to go to the My Cause website and immediately start my own site to help. The site was exceptionally easy to set up. I even was able to donate and set my own limits for fundraising in just minutes. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Thanks for allowing me the chance to help raise awareness and funding CFS. I hope to one day be pain and fatigue free among all of the other symptoms.

I also added My Cause to my email signature . . . Please help in my cause for a cure for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Go to my webpage — http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/gracie — and donate any amount, even a couple of bucks helps. My goal is $50,000.00. Help me reach it by sharing my link with your friends and family too. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

"I heard "webpage," and I thought complicated! But it was really simple - everything was provided for me. A few clicks and I'd created it! It's great to be able to ask for support in such a nice way." http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/royster

"Seemingly custom-made for CFIDS patients, the My Cause program's accessibility, user-friendly format and flexibility enables you to set up a personal fundraising page with minimal effort, energy and time. You can customize the page (or not) as you like and it gives you the opportunity to tell people why CFIDS is important to you personally.

This is a perfect format for those who have long wanted to make a difference but, due to illness and energy constraints, have been unable to do so. I'm very proud to have been able to get in on the ground floor of this exciting new project and I’m thrilled that the CFIDS Association has found such a simple way for both patients and their loved ones to make such an important contribution." Laura Smith, North Carolina
"Using My Cause has helped me get the message to my friends that research and funding is critical to combating this illness and combating the negative connotation people have towards its sufferers. I've been surprised by the people who have donated and also pleasantly surprised by the support I've gotten from people glad to see the site. It helps me feel like I'm not alone in this fight." http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=200543&supId=150635694

Elly Brosius, Virginia
"Fortunate to be the first CFIDS Association My Cause fundraiser, I enthusiastically encourage enrollment! With notes about supporting and honoring our cause, ourselves and one another, this is an attractive, meaningful, and convenient way to ask for and make tax deductible donations for the CFS cause. Making a personalized web page is fun, but a little work at the beginning - so maybe plan to do it in two sessions. I found it surprisingly smooth to make changes later. Inviting others to stop by your page, learn a little about CFS and you, and donate is next, and I especially appreciate that I choose when and how to solicit, using the tools given to suite my style. I can send out emails created at My Cause, send out my own emails with my page's URL, add a link to my page at another website, or print a form for non-computer users. Please join me as a CFS is My Cause Fundraiser!" You can view my personal web page at http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/belly

My Cause has been an amazing experience for me.  I've felt so alone and misunderstood for 11 years now and this is the first time I've ever been able to talk to family and friends about my illness.  This illness is so difficult to explain to others, even the people closest to you.  They just don't understand and it's exhausting complaining all of the time.  This gives me an opportunity to let the people who love me know and understand what I'm going through and that means so much to me.  I thank you all for this tremendous opportunity.

“By setting up a "My Cause" web site where friends, family and others can make a donation to the CFIDS Association you will assist the organization in their efforts to implement programs which are vital to the CFIDS community. What you will find is that you are making a difference in the lives of others as well as in your own life!” Visit my page at http://mycausecfs.kintera.org/claudia
