  CFS Advisory Committee to meet next week


Advocacy Alert: 11/14/2006

The Department of Health and Human Services Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Advisory Committee will meet in Washington, D.C. next week. The two-day meeting will begin Monday, November 20, at 9:00 a.m., concluding at 5:00 p.m. and resuming on Tuesday, November 21, at 9:00 a.m. and adjourning at 2:45 p.m.

The committee will hear updates from the federal agency representatives, including research reports from staff from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). A focus of the meeting will be the education of health care professionals about CFS.

On Tuesday, a segment of the recording of the November 3 press conference on CFS will be shown. There is also time for public witness testimony.
