Annual Fund success

Many thanks to those of you who supported the Association’s 1998 Annual Fund campaign. This important yearly appeal seeks unrestricted donations in support of the ongoing needs of the Association, enabling us to carry out our vital education, public policy and research programs. Year-end contributions, as well as those from the Annual Fund campaign, raised over $376,000, exceeding the campaign goal by 25%.

Your year-round support is crucial as we work to conquer CFIDS. Thank you for your generosity in 1998 and for your continued support of The CFIDS Association of America.

Web site tally
The Association’s web site "www.cfids.org" is visited an average of nearly 185 times per day or more than 5,000 times per month. A "Hitometer" was incorporated into the site recently to keep a tally of the number of visitors.

We are continually making improvements to the site, adding information and links to make the site more useful to members and visitors.

Thank you to departing board members
Four members of the Board of Directors of The CFIDS Association of America have decided to step down from the board. Bill Gareau, a public health counselor in Atlanta, and PWCs Maggie McKenzie, Rebecca Moore and Marion Nelson cited personal and professional challenges in this difficult decision.

Please join the Board and staff of the Association in thanking these dedicated individuals for their service  and wishing them well. We hope to continue to benefit from the talents and experience of these CFIDS advocates in other capacities. (See Founder’s Forum in this issue, for more about the Board of Directors.)
