Spotlight on CFS
We are pleased to announce the launch of a new feature forCFIDSLink subscribers -- Spotlight on CFS. Each month, Spotlight on CFS will feature a prominent scientist, CFIDS advocate, Association board member or supporter.

This month we shine the spotlight on respected CFS researcher Dr. Dimitris Papanicolaou of Emory University.

Dr. Papanicolaou’s interest in CFS stems from his study of illnesses in which cortisol, a stress hormone, is either higher or lower than normal. Visit http://www.cfids.org/about/dimitris.asp to read more about Dr. Papanicolaou and his CFS research.

2003 Annual Fund to Launch in March
The Association's Annual Fund is a yearly effort designed to preserve and amplify vital efforts in CFIDS education, public policy and research. Generous support of the Annual Fund helps the Association speed progress toward our mission – conquering CFIDS.

The campaign is scheduled to mail mid–March.

Please make your tax-deductible donation online today. Not only will your gift be put to immediate use in the fight to end CFIDS, but you will help us save on printing and postage costs associated with a mailing.

To make your contribution, visit our secure server at https://www.cfids.org/ecommerce/donations.asp.

Contribution envelopes now available!
A friend’s birthday, your anniversary or a wedding is a wonderful opportunity to assist in the fight against CFIDS . In lieu of gifts, ask your family and friends to remember special occasions (or pay tribute to someone’s memory) by making a donation to The CFIDS Association of America.

To make giving easy and convenient, the Association can now provide you with contribution envelopes you can share with family and friends or include in your holiday cards.

Each self-mailing envelope contains information about CFIDS so you can help educate others as you assist in the fight against the illness.

To request contribution envelopes, simply send an e-mail to mailto: kalmond@cfids.org with your full name, mailing address and the quantity of envelopes needed.

AACFS Conference
CFIDS experts from around the world met earlier this month in Washington, DC , for the sixth International Conference on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Related Illnesses. The conference was sponsored by the American Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and the Foundation for Care Management.

The three-day conference featured talks by dozens of CFIDS experts, plus reports on nearly 30 new, unpublished research studies. For a full report of the proceedings, look for the spring issue of The CFS Research Review.
