Photo Exhibit Makes Two More Stops
The traveling CFS photo exhibit continues to crisscross the country in 2007. This exhibit, which is part of the national public awareness campaign sponsored by the CDC and the CFIDS Association, made nine stops in 2006 and will make more than a dozen stops in 2007.
The next venue on the docket is SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, North Carolina. The photo exhibit will be displayed from February 8-11 in the Center Court, which is close to the food court and the escalators. In conjunction with this exhibit, the CFIDS Association generated widespread regional media coverage of CFS and the photo exhibit itself. So far, WFAE Radio, WJZY TV, WBT Radio and WBAV Radio have aired segments on CFS. More stories are in the pipeline, including articles in Charlotte Weekly (February 9), Fort Mill Times (this week) and the Herald in Rock Hill (February 8) and an interview with CFIDS Association president Kimberly McCleary, which will air on all five Clear Channel radio stations in Charlotte this weekend. In addition, two local TV stations may film stories at the photo exhibit and air them this week.
In March the exhibit will be in New Brunswick, New Jersey, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital from March 9-12. The photo exhibit will be at this venue in conjunction with a special joint seminar on CFS co-sponsored by the CFIDS Association and the New Jersey Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Association on March 10 at the hospital. Visit http://www.cfids.org/cfidslink/2007/ee1.asp for more details on this seminar.
Next, the exhibit will move to Menlo Park Mall from March 15-18. This is a large, two-level regional mall located in Edison, New Jersey. More details on this venue will be coming in the next CFIDSLink.
Please visit http://www.cfids.org/sparkcfs/photo.asp frequently throughout the coming weeks to see where the photo exhibit will travel in the months ahead and to stay abreast of media coverage surrounding these events.
