ART & SOUL Exhibit At The Wisconsin
AACFS Meeting Information &
Release form
This exhibit is a tribute to us, to what we can do despite and
with adversity. Therefore, your contributions to this exhibit are precious.
The exhibit will be monitored throughout the
conference. Well volunteers will do set up and take down.
If you are coming to the conference, please look in
your registration packet to see where you can drop off your item for display. If
you are sending your work, we must receive it by OCT 1, 2004.
Set up will begin on late Thursday afternoon and
resume Friday morning at 7:00am.
Books, poetry, short stories, and articles will be
displayed on tables. Please provide a one-page autobiography with your work.
Please sign your work. We will back poetry and short works with construction
paper and tape to the table. Submit longer works typed. Please send your
best samples. Space is a consideration, so if you send a stack of writing, not
all can be displayed. Writing will not be returned because we will assume that
you have the original. Books will go in our association library for free use for
our members. Poetry and articles will be published in 2005 in a revised edition
of our 1994 publication, “Faces of CFS.” You will receive a copy of this
if you assign permissions.
Visual Art takes many forms. The definition of art
depends on the eye of the beholder. Most artwork will be displayed by attaching
it to large free standing, felt covered mounting boards. We will be unable to
back your work because we can’t possibly be prepared for the range of formats.
If you are coming to the conference, please have your work ready with backing
for display.
If you are sending artwork, please know that we
will do everything possible to care for your art & soul at the exhibit. Have
your work ready for us to attach to the display board. Package carefully!
We will repackage and return to you by the end of October.
We would appreciate it if you would clip an
address label and postage to this form when you send it with your work. Note
that on the form, we ask for a complete description of your work. Let’s avoid
error by making sure that artist & art stay together!
Crafted items such as weavings, and other textiles,
beadwork etc. are certainly appropriate. It will not be practical for us to
display large heavy items, but a good photo of your work along with a bio
statement would be nice.
