Out and About 

In support of Awareness Day, the Black Hills (South Dakota) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia Syndrome Support Group will sponsor its 2004 Health Fair on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. in the East and West Auditorium of Rapid City Regional Hospital, 353 Fairmont Boulevard. The theme of the health fair is "CFS/FMS: It's Not All in Your Head." Dr. Don Burnap, psychiatrist, will speak at 1 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at 3 p.m. of health care providers, someone with CFS, someone with FMS and a spouse of someone with CFS/FMS. Update on CFIDS Treatment and Research
Jamie Davis, the Association’s Director of Development & Chief Operating Officer, will represent The CFIDS Association of America at a May 15 conference in Salt Lake City, Utah hosted by the Organization for Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Education and Research. CFIDS experts Dr. Daniel Peterson and Dr. Lucinda Bateman are members of a diverse faculty for the program, “Advances in Understanding and Treating CFS and Fibromyalgia.” The CFIDS Association is a proud sponsor of the event, which will be held at the Sheraton City Centre from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The cost of $35 includes lunch. South Florida Conference
The Patient Alliance for Neuroendocrineimmune Disorders Organization for Research and Advocacy (PANDORA) is sponsoring a patient conference on chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia (CFS/FM) on Thursday, May 14. CFSAC Minutes
Minutes of the December 8, 2003 meeting of the Department of Health and Human Services Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Advisory Committee have been posted to the committee’s web site at http://www.hhs.gov/advcomcfs/dec_meeting_min.html. The committee’s next meeting is set for mid-June, although the date has not yet been announced.
