Personal Stories
Living with chronic fatigue syndrome, whether you’re a patient, family member or caregiver, can be challenging. After all, CFS not only confronts people with new health issues, it can have a significant impact on careers, finances, educational activities and lifestyle.
For patients, the illness can be as isolating as it is debilitating, especially when friends,
co-workers or family members don’t understand what you’re going through. For family members, making the multiple adjustments that come with having someone in the family who is chronically ill can change family dynamics and put a strain on relationships. For caregivers of patients who are seriously ill, the burden can sometimes be overwhelming.
Hearing the stories of people who are experiencing the same challenges and listening to how they faced similar challenges can be inspiring, motivating and therapeutic.
