Since 2001, the CFS Provider Education Project has exhibited at over 66 medical conferences throughout the United States. The message, “Help the Person Behind the Symptoms,” is used to communicate that tools are available to help providers learn more about managing the symptoms of CFS. Visitors can pick up complimentary resources such as the CFS Pocket Guide for Health Professionals, CFS Toolkit for Healthcare Professionals, fact sheets, and research articles.

Grand Rounds and CME Presentations
In 2006, CFIDS experts began conducting a series of Grand Rounds presentations to medical students, residents, university faculty and hospital staff at U.S. medical schools and teaching hospitals. Grand Rounds will also be offered to students and faculty in other health care disciplines, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Grand Rounds is a traditional teaching method in medical schools and is considered an important part of the educational process. They are generally held on a weekly basis with students and professors in attendance and are often mandatory for students and residents. Conventional formats include the presentation of a case study related to a particular illness or disease followed by an interactive group discussion.
