Statement from the CFIDS Association's Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is having its regularly scheduled fall meeting this weekend and has made time on the two-day agenda to discuss the WPI’s XMRV study and its potential implications for patients and their families. We are buoyed by the tremendous attention this study has brought to CFS.
Over the past 25 years there have been several reports linking CFS to infectious agents; we are in dialogue with scientists and experts and other authorities to provide the community and the public with appropriate science-based information. We will also map immediate next steps to expedite independent validation of these findings by other laboratories using well-characterized patients and controls.
